JUDY R. DUFFEY, 90

Judy R. Duffey, 90, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, in Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Mo.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16 in the New Testament Christian Church, Linn Creek, Mo. Burial will be at a later date in Springfield (Mo.) National Cemetery.

Judy R. Wright was born July 4, 1919 in Cincinnati, Iowa, to John Sidney and Cara (Crawley) Wright. She was raised in Newton, Iowa and attended school there.

She married Roy C. Duffey in Oskaloosa, Iowa, in 1939. The couple owned and operated 10 different Duffey’s market grocery stores in Nebraska and Iowa. They retired to the Lake of the Ozarks.

She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Linn Creek.

In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, playing cards and collecting antiques and Barbie dolls. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Mrs. Duffey was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John “Pat” Duffey and Lucy Lauritsen of Blair; daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Gerald Hard of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, Tracy Bowen of Golden, Colo., Sean Duffey of Omaha, and Curtis Hard and Debra Shippy, both of Dallas, Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Sydney and Mason Bowen of Golden, Natalie, Nathan and Shauna Duffey, all of Omaha, and Trinity and Skylar Shippy and soon-to-be Hailey, all of Dallas; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Roy, and a sister, Marie Longnecker.

Memorial donations may be made to the New Testament Christian Church and left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
