Simon J. Albracht, 82

Simon J. Albracht, 82, of Fort Calhoun, died peacefully in the presence of his family on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun.

Simon J. “Si” Albracht was born Dec. 8, 1923, to Joe and Josephine Albracht, and was raised in Norfolk. He served in the Navy during World War II. He received his law degree from Creighton Law School in 1958.

He loved the practice of law, particularly during his years in partnership with the late David Lathrop Sr. He maintained his law office until shortly before his death.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Pat, Teresa and Marne; sons-in-law, Larry Pringle and Don Wales; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; brother, Eugene; sisters, Dorothy and Patty; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.

In lieu of traditional remembrances, memorials are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Si was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Joe; four brothers and six sisters. He is survived by his wife Betty; daughters Pat, Teresa and Marne; sons-in-law Larry Pringle and Don Wales; grandchildren Marne, Emily, Rosemary, Jesse, Sarah, Nick and Joe; great-grandson Kameron; brother Eugene, sisters Dorothy and Patty; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends who miss him greatly.

VISITATION AND VIGIL SERVICE: Monday, January 30, 2006 from 3:00-8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Family receiving friends from 5:00-8:00 pm, all at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun, NE.
