LORNA W. DORFMEYER, 88

Lorna W. Dorfmeyer, 88, of Fremont, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at her home in Fremont.

Services were Monday, Feb. 22 at Elim Lutheran Church at Swaburg. The Rev. Mark Eldal officiated. Burial was in Elim Lutheran Cemetery at Swaburg.

Pallbearers were Rex Engdahl, Kent Hartung, Kenneth Karmann, Dale Holzerland, Ryan and Troy Dorfmeyer, and Roger Wagner.

Loran W. Dorfmeyer was born Sept. 3, 1910, to Herman and Minnie (Koehler) Johnson in rural Uehling.

She grew up in rural Uehling, where she worked at Stack Grocery Store. After moving to Fremont, she worked at the former O.P. Skaggs.

She married Henry A. Dorfmeyer on March 23, 1937. Her husband later died in 1937.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Marva Dorfmeyer of Fremont; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ila Jean and Alden Engdahl of Oakland, and Norma Lee and Del Hartung of Fremont; three brothers, Wallace Johnson of Blair, Vernon K. and Lillian Johnson of Oakland, and Kenneth Johnson of Uehling; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; granddaughter, Renee Engdahl; and sister-in-law, Anita Johnson.

Memorials are suggested to Elim Lutheran Church Cemetery. Moser Memorial Chapel of Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
