Irmagene “Gene” Krogstrand, 89, of Blair, died March 3, 2014, in Blair.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, at the First Lutheran Church in Blair. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis, S.D.

Irmagene “Gene” Sieg was born Feb., 10, 1925 in Hot Springs, S.D., to William and Gladys (Thompson) Sieg. She attended grade school and high school in Hot Springs and business college in Rapid City, S.D. She was later employed at Ellsworth Air Force Base.

She married Orien “Mike” Krogstrand Feb. 6, 1946. To this union, they were blessed with four children: Jerry, Ron, Mark and Lori. They celebrated 68 years of marriage together.

Mrs. Krogstrand took great care and pleasure in caring for her family at home and in her church. She was a charter member of Custer Lutheran Fellowship in Custer, S.D. She was an active member of the Southern Hills Gideon Auxiliary until moving to Blair in 2009.

She is survived by her husband, Orien “Mike” of Blair; her sons: Ron (Kaye) Krogstrand of Omaha and Mark (Penny) of Aberdeen, S.D.; daughter Lori (Mike) Aman of Blair; grandchildren: Mikal, John, Derek, Anthony, Mikala, Alicia, Colton and Susan; and great-grandson Mitchell Krogstrand.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Delbert and James; an infant sister, Betty; and beloved son, Jerry.

Memorials are suggested to Gideon’s International.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
