Edward McKain

Services for Edward K. McKain, 64, who died Friday, October 12, in the Blair Memorial Community Hospital, will be Tuesday, October 15, 2 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home. The Rev. John Ewton will officiate and burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

McKain was born April 1, 1921, the son of Kelsa and Ethel McKain of Tekamah. He married Lillian Hansen on Oct. 24, 1942, in Papillion.

He retired in 1984 from the State Highway Department after 30 years. He was a member of the Jackson-Peck American Legion Post No. 274 of Herman and a member of the First Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian of Blair; one son, Kerry of Blair; his mother, Ethel of Tekamah; two sisters, Marie Grant of Auburn, Washington, and Frances Tranmer of Tekamah; two brothers, Donald of Omaha, and Kelsa, Jr., of Craig; two grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

Pallbearers include following members of Jackson-Peck American Legion Post of Herman: Joe Fitch, Howard Laughlin, Paul Christiansen, Larry Nun, Eugene Husk and Harlan Petersen.

Organist will be Clare Cowing and vocalist will be Barry Beard.

Campbell Funeral Home of Blair is in charge of arrangements.
