Ethel McKain, 94

Services for Ethel McKain, age 94 who died Tuesday, October 20, 1992 at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair were Thursday, October 22, 1992 at the Baptist Church in Tekamah. Rev. Victor Crawford officiated with interment in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Ethel Faye Seymour was born September 18, 1898 in Rock Island, Illinois to William and Clara Moore Seymour.

At the age of 3 weeks, she came with her parents, across Iowa in a covered wagon to Mondamin, Iowa. They later moved to Tekamah. She lived in Tekamah and surrounding areas the remainder of her life.

On October 2, 1915, Ethel and Kelsa C. McKain were united in marriage at Blair, Nebraska. To this union 5 children were born, Donald, Kelsa Jr., Edward, Marie and Frances.

She was a member of the Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, sewing and helping quilt at the Chatt Senior Center. She also played the organ and sang. She enjoyed reading the Bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Kelsa in 1978, son Edward; a granddaughter, Angela; one sister and one brother.

She is survived by two sons, Donald and his wife, Margie McKain of Omaha; Kelsa, Jr. and his wife, Eunice McKain of Fort Calhoun; two daughters, Marie and her husband, Merle Grant of Auburn, Washington and Francs Tranmer of Tekamah; one daughter-in-law, Lillian McKain of Blair; one sister, Violet Holiday of Lufkin, Texas; one stepsister, Edith Potter of Tekamah; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 33 great-great-grandchildren.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.
