Kelsa McKain Jr., 75

Kelsa McKain Jr., 75, of Fort Calhoun, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation will be Thursday, June 7, from 1 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday, June 8. Interment will be at the Tekamah Cemetery.

Kelsa McKain Jr. was born September 3, 1925, in Tekamah to Kelsa C. and Ethel Faye (Seymour) McKain. He farmed land near Craig and moved to Fort Calhoun after retirement.

He married Eunice Schlautmann on May 22, 1965, at the Craig United Methodist Church in Craig.

Mr. McKain was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church for the Deaf in Omaha.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice, of Fort Calhoun; two sons and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jenny McKain, West Point, and Robert McKain of Hinesville, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Minnie and John Oldson of Blair; one sister, Frances Tranmer of Tekamah; one sister-in-law, Margie McKain of Omaha; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Angela McKain; two brothers, Edward and Donald McKain; and one sister, Marie Grant.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church for the Deaf in Omaha.
