Julia A. McKee, 90

Julia A. McKee, 90, of Blair, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, in Blair.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Jna.7, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun.

Julia Audrey Davis was born March 25, 1919, at Herrick, S.D., to William and Sarah Davis. She was the seventh of eight children.

On Oct. 16, 1935, she married Thomas “Bus” McKee. The couple had three daughters. They farmed until 1956 moved to Winner, S.D., for two years, and then purchased the inland Theatre in Martin, S.D. They ran the theatre and a trailer court until retiring in 1976.

The couple did a lot of traveling and finally purchased a winter home in Morristown, Ariz., where they lived during the cold months until 1990, when Mr. McKee died.

Mrs. McKee moved to Blair in 1990 and lived there and for a short time in Fort Calhoun until her death.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty: and Leland Olson of Mitchell, S.D., Patricia “Pat” and Wes Petznick of Fort Calhount; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey, and her seven siblings.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair.
