Kenneth McKenzie Dies In Fremont

Kenneth W. McKenzie, 72, of 1639 N. H. Street, died Saturday in Memorial Hospital of Dodge County.

Mr. McKenzie was born January 2, 1909, in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. He graduated from Treynor High School in Treynor, Iowa. He lived in Iowa until 1928 when his family moved to Fremont. He farmed and then worked for DeKalb Agresearch Inc., and after for the Wilson Hybrid Seed Company. He was a member of Nickerson Methodist Church.

Mr. McKenzie married the former Florence V. Shriver on February 22, 1939, in Fremont. She died in 1973.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald, Fremont, and Duane, Nickerson; six grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Edna Purdy, Mrs. Ethel Tanner, and Mrs. Vera Meier, all of Fremont, Mrs. Viola Pugh of Omaha, and Mrs. Dorothy Morrison, Phoenix, Arizona; and two brothers, Floyd, Fremont, and J. Verne, Omaha.

Funeral services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, Fremont, with the Rev. Merle Zook officiating. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Nickerson Methodist Church.
