Timothy K. “Fly” Kruse, 49, of Omaha, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at his home after a courageous four-year battle with kidney cancer.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Timothy K. “Fly” Kruse was born June 8, 1964, in Blair.

He was baptized and confirmed at First United Methodist Church. He graduated from Blair High School in 1982.

He briefly attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before beginning his career in construction. He worked in the construction field for many years, and most recently, as a construction manager at Rosacker & Associates.

He was a lover of sports. He was an avid golfer and especially loved spending time at the Oakland Country Club. He loved spending time with his wide network of friends. He never met a stranger and his sense of humor and wit will be unmatched.

After being diagnosed with cancer, he was blessed with a cancer sponsor and friends in Kent and Linda Tyler.

He is survived by his father, Gary (Bethene) Kruse; sisters: Karen Johnson, Lisa (John) Bowen and Trisha (Ron) Clark; niece and nephews; very special friend Michaela Smith; several aunts and uncles; and beloved Kitty Kat.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Kruse; grandparents: Chet and Marie Spiker and Walter and Edna Kruse.

Memorials are suggested to Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center in Omaha.
