McClellan Services Wednesday

Arlington Business Man Was Active In Community Affairs

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for H. C. McClellan, long-time Arlington business man and community worker. He had died at this home Sunday at the age of 84.

Mr. McClellan was born at Salem, Indiana January 17, 1883 but had lived at Arlington for many years.

He had held an active interest in numerous community activities. For a number of years he served as Secretary of the Washington County Fair and he had been Secretary of the Nebraska Fair Managers Association for a long term. He had at one time been a member of the Nebraska State Fair board. He was an officer of the Arlington State Bank and at various times had served numerous other community posts.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, of Arlington; one daughter, Mrs. Carroll (Rachel) Unland of Lincoln; two sons, Merritt of Rolla, Missouri and Harry Jr. of Lincoln.

A sister, Mrs. Mabel Fleenor, resides at Kokomo, Indiana. There are three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Interment was made in the Arlington Cemetery with Eastern Star Graveside Services.

Casket Bearers were Lee Unland, Robert Schenker, Robert Mitchell Jr., Henry Wulf, Andrew Svendgaard Jr., Richard Melvern.

Honorary Casketbearers were Clarence Rockwell, Arthur Gifford, Arthur Sidner, and Merle S. Newkirk.
