Gayle W. Chambers, age 68, Craig, passed away on Friday morning, January 16, 1987, at an Omaha hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born on October 22, 1918, to Robert F. and Selma (Fridlund) Whitney.

Gayle owned and operated a gift shop in Craig.

Her husband, James D. Chambers, passed away on February 2, 1971.

She was member of Craig Chapter, O.E.S. No. 157 and Leah Rebekah Lodge No. 183 of Craig, and was also a member of the Methodist Church in Craig.

Survivors include two daughters: Jaymie Chamberlin of Craig and Julie Bresnan of Lynnwood, Washington; two grandchildren; one brother, Ronald Whitney of St. Petersburg, Florida, one sister, Marjorie Spry of Essex, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 1987, at the Methodist Church in Craig with Rev. Patricia Vanderpol officiating. Interment was in the Mt. View Cemetery at Billings, Montana.

Eastern Star and Rebekah services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
