Doris L. Chandler, 81, of Blair, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 29, at the Parkview Manor Social Hall. An 11 a.m. luncheon will precede the memorial service. Private burial will be in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Doris L. Reisen Chandler was born Nov. 3, 1918, to John LeRoy and Ella Mauguerite (Baker) Fuller, in rural Craig, on the family farm near Bertha. She attended grade school at Bertha Country School, and then attended Tekamah High School.

On May 22, 1936, she married Orville A. Reisen in Omaha. He died May 20, 1957. She then married Forrest E. Chandler on Oct. 7, 1960, in Strong City, Kan. He died May 20, 1993.

She lived in Emporia, Kan., where she worked in nursing homes. She was also a past employee of the Good Samaritan Center in Superior. She moved to Blair in 1990.

She is survived by her son, Marvin LeRoy Reisen of Blair; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Roger Thompson of Harvard; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Reisen of Emporia, Kan.; a sister Elaine Jones of Blair; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, a son, Richard Reisen, who died at birth; and a grandson, Orville (Corky) English.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah is in charge of arrangements.
