Nathan Eldon "Nate" Baker, 25, of Rossville, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at his home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha. Visitation with the family begins at 12 p.m. at Country Bible Church until the service time.

Nathan Eldon “Nate” Baker was born Nov. 29, 1988, in Denver, Colo., to William J. Baker Jr. and JoLynn Kay (Schelske) Baker.

He attended Tara Oaks Elementary, Briarcrest and Houston High Schools. He graduated from Gateway Home School in May 2007. He received a music scholarship to the University of Memphis where he majored in classical bass performance.

He lived a robust life and his passions were music, composing, performing, animals, nature, cooking and camping.

He is survived by his parents of Rossville; his sister, Melinda Christensen (Chip) of Springfield; two brothers: C.J. Passmore (Ashley) of Olive Branch, Miss., and William J. Baker, III (Rebecca) of Fayetteville, Ark.; his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Schelske of Scotland, S.D.; two nieces: Lexi Christensen of Omaha and Bailey June Passmore of Olive Branch, Miss.; three nephews: Ty, Grant and Jed Christensen of Omaha; his uncle, Randy Schelske (Peg) of Olivet, S.D.; four aunts: Lonna Miller (Deono) of Mitchell, S.D., Julie Hayes (Scott) of Blair, Sandra Kay Bartholow (Paul) of St. Louis Park, Minn., Debye Baker-Schelm (Dean) of Omaha; and 16 cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: William and Gwen Baker and Eldon Schelske; and his aunt, Jeanie Carstens.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
