Early day residents of Blair and Washington County heard with deep regret of the death of Miss Samantha Chapman, which occurred at the home of her brother, H. A. Chapman, at Arlington, on the last Sunday the 16th, inst. after an illness of only 3 or 4 days from a malignant attack of La Grippe.

Deceased was past 85 years of age and was known intimately to many of the earlier residents of Blair, having made her home for a number of years in those early days with the family of Mr. and Mrs. A. Castetter in this city. For the past 30 years or so she has made her home with her brother, H.A. Chapman and his wife, at Arlington, most of the time.

Funeral service was held at the Chapman home in Arlington on Tuesday, January 18, interment being made at Prospect Hill Cemetery, at Omaha, where her parents and other relatives are buried.
