Elsie Stevens Chard passed away at the Blair Community Hospital on May 16. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stevens of Blair. She was born at Tekamah, Nebraska, October 1, 1913 and moved to Blair with her family in1916. She graduated from Blair High School, then attended Business College in Omaha and worked in Blair for several years.

Elsie married C. Gordon Chard of Lyons, Nebraska, November 7, 1939. To this union one child was born, Gordon Steven Chard of El Sabrante, California. He and his wife and son are survivors, as well as three sisters, Mrs. Clark Bassett (Alice) of Oak Harbor, Washington, Mrs. Earl Whitaker (Clarice) of Omaha and Mrs. Clarence Arnold (Helen) of Blair, two brothers Williams Stevens of Omaha and Arthur Stevens of Buffalo, New York, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are being held Tuesday, May 12 at 10 o’clock at the Presbyterian Church in Lyons, Nebraska.
