Lawrence Paul Shattuck, 71

Services were May 10 at Sievers Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun for Lawrence Paul Shattuck, 71, who died May 7, 1989. Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Lawrence Paul Shattuck was born May 27, 1917 in Gregory County, South Dakota and lived his earliest years with his grandmother. When he was eight he moved to Omaha with his father and lived in the Benson area.

In 1940, he married Ruth Alice Muenz. Six children were born to the couple, including three of whom died of cystic fibrosis, twin boys and an infant daughter.

He worked for Sorensen Dairy and for United Digging Company until his retirement.

After his wife’s death in 1980, he moved to Fort Calhoun where he lived with Dorothy Anderson until a year ago when, after her death, he lived with his son, Gary and his wife, Lois.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Lois Shattuck and Larry and Bev Shattuck; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Tom Albertson; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
