Marian K. Shaw, 87

Former Blair resident Marian K. Shaw, 87, of Monterey, Calif., died peacefully on Sept. 2, 2005, at Community Hospital of Moneterey Peninsula. A memorial service is planned for Sept. 17 in Oakdale, Calif.

Born in Riley, Alberta, Canada, Marian K. Shaw grew up in Blair. She married Robert H. Shaw during World War II. After the war, they made their homes in Riverside, Calif., Woodlands Hills, Calif., and Lompoc, Calif., before residing in Monterey for the past year.

Mrs. Shaw was dedicated to her family. Always giving, she was active in the Congregational Church, school organizations and numerous community activities. She volunteered for more than 18 years at the Lompoc Public Library in Vandenburg Village. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed bridge clubs throughout her life.

She is survived by Robert, her husband of 62 years; sons and daughters-in-law Robert Scott and Molly Shaw of Oakdale, Calif., James and Luz Shaw of Coalinga, Calif.; three grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie Hanson of Tracy, Calif., Betty Janssen of Grand Island; brother, Robert Krogh of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Diego Shaw.
