Obituary

Mrs. Ada Robertson McKillip was born June 26th, 1874, near Louisville, Kentucky, and when about five years old moved with her parents to Washington County, Neb. Here she grew up and was married February 12th, 1895 to Daniel J. McKillip. They first lived at Cambridge, Neb., and then returned to Arlington, where they resided until nine years ago, when they moved to Humphry. Here they spent five years, thence going to present home at Belgrade.

To them were born five children, two of whom died in infancy. To mourn her loss, with the sorrowing husband, there survive one son and two daughters, Mrs. Edith Plunkett, of Torrington, Wyo., and Joe and Thelma, of Belgrade, Neb. There is also one sister Mrs. Lily Gaines, of Fremont, Neb., and three half brothers, James of Los Angeles, Calif., Oscar of Greeley, Colo., and Earl of Denver.

Mrs. McKillip was operated on for appendicitis about a year ago, and apparently was quite herself after that illness. She was not very well about June this year, but was not seriously ill until about three weeks ago when a bad turn was taken and as she did not respond to local treatment she was moved to St. Joseph’s hospital, Omaha, on Friday last. She grew worse however and rapidly sinking, passed away at the hospital at five o’clock, Sunday morning, September 9th, 1923, at the age of 49 years, 2 months and 14 days.

Funeral services took place in the Methodist church, Arlington, Tuesday the 11th inst., Rev. Frank Williams, pastor, conducting the service. Appropriate songs were rendered by a quartette from the church choir, and many were present to pay a last tribune of respect and esteem to the memory of their once friend, who all held in the highest regard by all who knew her. Interment followed in the cemetery at Kennard, which is near their first home in this state.
