Daniel McKillip Dies

Funeral services for Daniel Joseph McKillip, former resident of this place were held from the Methodist church on Saturday morning with the Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating. Mrs. Alvin Anderson and Miss Lucy Lawson sang “In the Garden,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” and “Sometime We’ll Understand.” Three children, Mrs. Edith Plunkett, of Denver; Mrs. Thelma Williams, of Fremont; and Joseph, of Genoa survive him, also three brothers and one sister: P.E. McKillip, of Norfolk; R. F. McKillip, of Denver; M. B. McKillip, of Saratoga, Wyo.; and Mrs. Nellie Anderson of Indianola. Interment was made in the Kennard cemetery. Pallbearers were Don C. Weber, William Hall, W. A. Whitford, S. H. Lockman, Chet Gaines and L. C. Gaines, of Fremont.

D. J. McKillup Dies In Fremont

Former Arlington and Kennard Resident Died Last Thursday

Dnaiel J. McKillup, former resident of Kennard and Arlington, died last Thursday at the home of his daughter in Fremont after a brief illness. He was 66 years of age.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. R. P. Rasmussen, were held at the Arlington Methodist church Saturday, with burial following in the Kennard cemetery. Bearers were long-time friends of Mr. McKillup: L. C. Gaines of Fremont, and H. C. Gaines, W. A. Whitford, William Hall, S. H. Lockman and Don C. Weber, all of Arlington.

Mr. McKillup lived in Kennard and on the present R. Sigman farm north of that community before moving to Arlington 30 years ago to operate a meat market. Part of a farm Mr. McKillup owned is now part of Kennard, and is known as McKillup’s addition.

While in Kennard he and the late John B. Burgess were in the cattle buying business for some time.

Born December 15, 1868, he was married February 25, 1895, to Miss Ada Robertson of Kennard. She died September 9, 1923.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Everett Williams of Fremont and Mrs. Ed Plunkett, Denver, and a son, Joe, of Genoa.
