DEATH OF FORMER BLAIR MAN AT BRUNSWICK, MO.

The Brunswick, Mo., Brunswicker has the following to say of John Donahue, who passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital in Kansas City on December 14, from injuries received in a runaway accident on December 4.

The funeral services were conducted at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Brunswick, Mo., at 9 o’clock a.m., on December 23, by Rev. M. Vonderstein and burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Brunswick.

John O'Donohue was born in County Cork, Ireland, June 24, 1856, and grew to manhood in his native land, coming to the United States at the age of seventeen years. He spent two years in the state of Illinois, going from there to Nebraska. He was a gardner(sp) by trade, and while in Nebraska was employed for eighteen successive years caring for extensive gardens at the summer home of J. E. Markell, a wealthy citizen near Blair.

Mr. Donahue was married October 27, 1908, to Miss Susan Schmidt, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Schmidt, of Brunswick, Mo., who survives him. He also leaves two brothers, one in Ireland and one in the state of New York, and one sister, also living in the state of New York.

Harry Seltz informs us that the W.O.W. lodge officer at DeSoto had word of the death of John Donahue who had charge of the Markell place for several years. He was a member of the DeSoto Camp W.O.W. His death occurred at Brunswick, Mo. on the 14th of this month. He is survived by his wife, they having had no children.
