Clarence McKinnis Died At Hospital Wed. April 5th

Clarence William McKinnis was born July 22, 1902 at Tekamah, Nebraska. He died April 5, 1972 at the Community Memorial Hospital at the age of 69 years, 9 months and five days. He lived in Tekamah until 1944 when he moved to Blair. He was married to Ruth Lorena Marr of Tekamah in 1925. While in Tekamah he served on the school board of Pleasant Home School District 5. He was best known locally for his love of gardening and met many friends through the sale of his produce. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1967 when he was baptized into the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Lev McKinnis; two brothers, Lloyd Wilbur and Elmer Howard; one sister, Florence Edith. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Clair of Blair, and Leroy of Pueblo, Colorado; two daughters, Lorraine Nielsen of Omaha and Hazel Ann Adams of Bridgeport, Nebraska. Also one sister, Mrs. Elsie Cooper of Emmett, Idaho, eight grandsons and five granddaughters and one great grandson, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 7, 1972 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Nenow officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery with the Campbell Mortuary in charge. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased: Wayne Adams, Mark Nielsen, Clark Nielsen, Dan McKinnis, Dave McKinnis, John Jensen, Scotty McKinnis and Jamie McKinnis.
