Daniel McKinnis, Traffic Victim, Died Last Monday

Daniel McKinnis, 19 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair McKinnis, died Monday, January 5, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha. Danny had been hit by two autos on the evening of December 19th while crossing a street in South Omaha.

Danny had been in a coma ever since the accident. Respiratory and other complications also hindered recovery.

Services are planned for Thursday, January 8, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Rev. Charles Nenow will conduct the 10:30 a.m. service with burial in the Blair Cemetery.

Surviving, besides his parents Mr. and Mrs. Clair McKinnis, are two sisters and one brother. They are: Mrs. Tim (Lori) Svendgard, Blair; Mrs. Pat (Lana) Thompson, Blair; and David McKinnis of Blair. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sass, Blair; Mrs. Ruth McKinnis of Blair and great grandmother Mrs. C. E. Marr of Blair.

Pallbearers will be Mike Kult, Dave Barnes, Dave Backman, Jeff Christiansen, Mark Nielsen, Clark Nielsen and Steve Ryan.

Danny was a graduate of the 1974 Blair High School and had been employed by the Weathercraft Roofing Company of Omaha.

Clair McKinnis is a partner in the McKinnis and Rosenkilde contracting firm that does considerable concrete work in the Arlington area.
