Carl Pieper, 96

Services for Carl H. Pieper, 94, of Blair were November 14, 1987, at Campbell Funeral Home in Blair.

Dr. Howard Bailey officiated. Burial followed in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Russell Kelley, Bob Ryan, Kelly Ryan, Perry Ryan, Myron Tofte and Emil Lorsch.

Carl was born November 1, 1891, in Essen, Germany, to William John and Louise (Huser) Pieper. The family came to the United States when he was two years old.

His family resided in Pennsylvania until they moved to the Blair area when Carl was 14.

At the time of his retirement, he had been employed by the Blair School System. Carl was a 25-year member of the Blair Fire Department.

Carl’s wife, Clara Jensen, preceded him in death.

Survivors include Harold Pieper of Huron, South Dakota, Paul Pieper of Omaha, and Mrs. Joe (Mary Jean) Halm of Kalispell, Montana, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother Bill Rodgers of Sanford, Florida, and sister Helen Robertson of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
