JAMES ANDERSON DIED HERE MONDAY

James Anderson, Blair Insurance broker and real estate man, died at Memorial Community Hospital Monday at the age of 62. He had been in failing health for a number of months.

He was the son of Theodore and Julia Beck Anderson and was born in Blair July 30th, 1904. He grew to manhood on College Hill in west Blair and this area was still his home at the time of his death.

He was married to Violet Larson at Wausa, Nebraska in 1932 and the couple became the parents of two children, James Oliver and Julie Anne.

He purchased the interest in the real estate and abstracting business of his uncle, Ove T. Anderson and became a partner with his brother-in-law, A. Clarence Vig. He also succeeded his uncle as Secretary of the Washington County Mutual Insurance Co. After Mr. Vig’s death in 1956, he dropped the abstracting work and continued in the insurance and real estate business.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; son James O. and his daughter Julie Anne. There are two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Vig; a nephew Ronald S. Vig and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. George Pallesen conducting the service. Burial under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home was made in the Blair cemetery.
