MRS. A. E. DIXON DIED MONDAY IN MARYLAND

Mrs. A. E. Dixon, well-known Washington County woman, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Murray, at Hyattsville, Maryland Monday, Febr. 8.

Eunice May Kehoe was born Febr. 16, 1883 at Woodland, Ill. Her family moved to Omaha, where she was graduated from high school. She attended Peru State Teachers College and taught school before her marriage. On June 19, 1907 she was married to Aaron Ernest Dixon. They lived on a farm north of Blair until they retired to 2166 Washington Street in 1943.

She was active in the community. She served as a Sunday School teacher; was past chairman of the County Extension Council; a Life member of Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the First Methodist Church; and was a member of the American War Mothers, the Hospital Auxiliary and Bridgeview Extension Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away October 26, 1957. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Kate High, of Fort Morgan, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Murray (Eleanor) of Hyattsville, Maryland, and Mrs. J. P. Nye (Florence) of Sioux City, Iowa; two sons, Elmer E. Dixon and James I. Dixon, both of Blair; and ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services are being held today (Thursday, Feb. 11) at the First Methodist Church, with Rev. Donald Springer conducting the services. Burial, under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary, will be made in Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Everett Lamb, Harry Waer, A. R. Beales, Herman Kuhr, Peter Sorensen and Byron Bunn.
