SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR JAMES DIXON

Funeral services for 59 year old James I. Dixon were held on Monday, February 5th at the First Methodist Church in Blair. Mr. Dixon had died on Friday, February 2, at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital.

Mr. Dixon had reportedly been taken to the Hospital Thursday evening and died early Friday morning.

Mr. Dixon was the Washington County Director of Veterans Administration office. Mr. Dixon also had farming interests in Washington County and was active in Military service organizations.

The 10:30 a.m. services were held at the First Methodist Church in Blair with Rev. Gordon Patterson officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Funeral Home.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife Beryl of Blair; two sons, one daughter and two grandchildren. The daughter is Mrs. Roger (Juli) Plugge of Blair. The sons are Jeffrey of Lincoln, James L. of Oakland, California.

There are two surviving sisters. They are Mrs. Ray (Eleanor) Murray of Hyattsville, Maryland; and Mrs. J. P. (Florence) Ny of Tucson, Arizona.

Mr. Dixon was born in Blair, Nebraska on April 7, 1919. He married the former Beryl Weaver who survives him. The couple lived at 2166 Washington Street, Blair.

Pallbearers included: Tom Kunaseck, Louis Swift, Ray Therkelsen, Leo Rosenkilde, George Sheets, Leonard Mathiesen.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Emmett Rogert, Clark O’Hanlon, Ray Hansen, Ted Jarosz, John Andreasen, Ed Thompson, Joe Fitch, Clarence Marr, Neil Lang, Gus Nelson, Frank Rybin, and Paup Tyson.
