PRIVATE SERVICES FRIDAY, MAR. 29 FOR MRS. G. L. DIXON

Mrs. Gifford Dixon, Sr., passed away on March 26th at the Crowell Memorial Home where she had resided for the past two years.

Lila M. Carrigan was born September 15, 1896 to Judge E. B. Carrigan and his wife, Frances. She graduated from the Blair City Schools and was married to Gifford L. Dixon in 1916, and they would have observed their 58th wedding anniversary this April.

Mrs. Dixon is survived by her husband, Gifford L. Dixon, Sr.; two daughters, Mrs. Don Schettler (Jacqueline) of Blair and Mrs. James Cedarleaf (Diane) of White Bear, Minnesota; and two sons, Michael of Phoenix, Arizona and Burke of St. Louis, Mo. A son, Gifford Jr., preceded her in death. A brother, John Carrigan of Florida also survives. There are 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dixon was a president of the St. Elizabeth Guild of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church a number of years ago. She was a Charter member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter E.Q. and served as president. She was also a Charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Blair and a member of the local D. A.R.

Private funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the Campbell Mortuary. Rev. Robert Bee officiated and burial was in the Blair Cemetery.
