GARDENER FOUND DEAD

CHRISTIAN DOBLER TAKES HIS LIFE EARLY SATURDAY BY HANGING

Chrisitan J. Dobler, 79, Blair gardner (sp) who had been at the Crowell Home for the Aged as a resident was found dead Saturday morning. Authorities pronounced his death suicide by hanging.

Funeral services and burial took place at York Tuesday afternoon. The Bendorf Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dobler is survived by a son, Arthur, who resides at York, and a daughter, whose home is in Colorado. There are five grandchildren.

BLAIR MAN TAKES LIFE BY HANGING

Christian J. Dobler, 79, a resident of the Crowell Home for the Aged, committed suicide by hanging sometime Friday night. His body was discovered Saturday morning.

Washington county coroner Roy Anderson said he plans no inquest since “it seems a clear case of suicide.” Anderson did not know what Dobler’s motive was.

Dobler was born Feb. 7, 1872 in south Russia - - when he came to the United States and what work he did was not known Saturday morning. He worked as a gardener at the home where he had lived since about 1940.

He is survived by a son, Arthur, who lives at York and a daughter, Vera Knodel, Bethune, Colorado.

Funeral services were held at York at Tuesday and burial was made at Sutton where his wife is buried.
