PETER DOESTERT

The death of Peter Doestert occurred at his home in this city on last Tuesday p.m. at 2 o’clock after an illness of several weeks which had its incipiency in an aggravated case of grippe, developing later a case of pneumonia, of a malignant type. Deceased had been a resident of Blair for about 20 years, was formerly engaged in the saloon business but of late years has been conducted a soft drink, ice cream, and confectionery place across the track. He was 54 years of age and leaves a wife and five small children. He was born in Germany and came to America about twenty-five years ago.

The funeral will be held at the Catholic church this, Friday, morning.

Peter Doestert died at about 5 o’clock yesterday evening of pneumonia following a severe attack of grip. The funeral is to be held at the Catholic church in this city at 10 o’clock Friday morning, Father O’Driscol officiating. He was born in Luxemburg, Germany and came to this country about 25 years ago, settling in Iowa. He came to Blair about 20 years ago and has made this his home ever since. He was married to Miss Daisy Moore shortly after coming to Blair and leaves a wife and five children to mourn his early departure, being but 54 years of age. He was a member of the Eagles lodge and of the Germania Verein. He has run a soft drink establishment on the corner opposite the Crowell offices for several years.
