MRS. CHASE PASSES AWAY IN FORT CALHOUN

Funeral services were held at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church on Monday, December 5, for Lena J. Chase, long-time Washington County resident, who passed away on December 3, 1977. Reverend Levi Williams of Omaha officiated at the services, and interment was made at the Fort Calhoun Cemetery under the direction of Sievers Funeral Home.

Lena J. Chase was born in Silver City, Montana, on April 6, 1890. She came with her parents at the age of one year to Coffman, Nebraska, and then lived in Washington County for 86 years. She died at her home in Fort Calhoun at the age of 87.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three sons. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Barbara) Burmeister, Fort Calhoun; Mrs. Glenn (Marjorie) Dorsey, Phoenix, Arizona; and three sons, James of Fort Calhoun, and Bill and John of Omaha.
