Alvina M. Chevrier, 93, of Fremont, died May, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Funeral services will be at 10:30a.m. on May 29 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. Interment was Monday, May 10, at St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey.

Alvina M. Chevrier was born Dec 22, 1910, at St, Bernard to Frank and Isabelle (Schaefer) Albracht. She attended St. Bernard Elementary School.

On Feb. 23, 1946, she married Rolland Chevrier.

During World War II, she worked in the gear production department for tanks at Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Mich. After her marriage, she was a homemaker, and also assisted her husband in the operation of Rolland’s Tavern and Rolland’s Dry Goods while the family lived in Humphrey.

Mrs. Chevrier was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. She was also member of the American Legion Auxiliary Catholic Daughters of America, St. Francis Quilters and the Christian Mothers Society.

She enjoyed bowling, and will be remembered for her laughter, generosity and card playing skill.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Joe Blondo of Grand Rapids, Mich., Gail and Roy Thomas of Tampa, Fla., Darlene and Dennis Koley of Arlington, and Drs. Marie Chevrier and Paul Jargowsky of Richardson, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother Wilfrid Albracht of Broken Bow; and three sisters, Germaine Schmidt of Platte Center, Darlene Korus of Lindsay, and Connie Helmberger of Fort Morgan, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland; brothers, Alphonse, Dennis and Clarence; sister, Gertrude Faltin; Clara Backes, Loretta Finn, Helen Breidert, Mildred Dahlhauser, and Mary Albracht.

Duesman Funeral Chapel in Humphrey was in charge of arrangements.
