Services were Saturday, February 15 at Roeder’s Mortuary for Raymond W. “Buck” Childers, 75, who died at his Fort Calhoun home Feb. 13, 1997. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Raymond W. Childers was born Jan. 12, 1922 in Bethany, Missouri to Ambrose and Electra Sego Childers.

He was a veteran of World War II.

He was a crane operator for a construction company.

He was a member of Contractor’s Union No. 571 and the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and parents.

He is survived by two sons, Gerald of Omaha and Michael of Fort Calhoun; a daughter, Judith Darcy of Springfield; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, John Childers, Wabash, Nebr. and his fiancée, Rose Ann Honcik.
