Myrna C. Choate, 70, of Westboro, Mo., died Monday, May 21, 2007, at the Community Hospital in Fairfax, Mo.

Graveside memorial services and inurnment will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Center Grove Cemetery in Westboro.

Myrna Coleen Winstead was born Oct. 31 1936, in Westboro, Mo., to Ralph Douglas and Mildred Bertha (Meyer) Winstead.

She attended school at Westboro and received her high school diploma in 1954. After graduating, she entered the United States Marine Corps and proudly served her country until her honorable discharge on July 6, 1957.

On June 8, 1957, she married Robert Choate Jr. in California. The couple had three sons, and later divorced.

She worked in Omaha and was employed as a machine operator for the Purex Soap factory and as a press operator for Colonial Printing. She retired following a job-related injury.

She was a member of the Untied Methodist Church in Westboro, the Eagles Club in Omaha, and was a union steward for the Graphic Communications International Union.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred Winstead of Tarkio, Mo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Wayne and Deborah J. Choate of Blair, Gary Lynn and Jolene K. Choate, and Daniel Joseph Choate, all of Omaha; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Virgil Henning of Tarkio, Barbara and John Hamilton of Northridge, Calif., and Connie and Joe Quimby, also of Tarkio; brother and sister-in-law, Bonnie Winstead of Sheridan, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Wayne; three nephews; and one niece.

Memorials are suggested to the Colleen Choate Memorial Fund.

Davis Funeral Home in Tarkio is in charge of arrangements.
