Ervin A. Christ, 82, 1504 N. H St., died Monday, Nov. 7, 1994 at his home.

Christ was born July 19, 1912, in Herman; he grew up in the Herman-Telbasta area and worked as a hired hand for area farmers. He moved to Fremont in 1937 and married Evelyn Gosker Feb. 15, 1939, in Hooper. Christ was a mason for Boschult Construction Co. several years and then for John Nielsen Masonry for 16 years. He and his brother then formed Christ Construction; he retired in 1977 and worked part time for Sawyer Construction Co.

He was a member of Izaak Walton League of America and Amateur Trapshooters Association. He was inducted to The Nebraska Trapshooters Hall of Fame in 1991.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janice (Mrs. George) Ogard of El Cajon, Calif.; his stepmother, Ella Christ of Hooper; two sisters, Luella (Mrs. Robert) Larsen of Fremont and Dorothy (Mrs. Hein) Wilkening of Arlington.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Erick Egertson will officiate. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Chapel in Fremont.

Services for Ervin A. Christ, 82 of Fremont who died November 7, 1994 at his home were Friday, November 11 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Professor Erick Egertson of Midland College officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Ervin A. Christ was born July 19, 1912 in Herman, Nebraska. He grew up in the Herman and Telbasta area.

He worked as a hired hand for farmers in that area and moved to Fremont in 1937 where he worked as a mason for Boschult Construction Co. for several years. He then worked for John Nielsen masonry for 16 years before forming Christ Construction with his brother, Glen. He retired in 1977 and worked part-time for Sawyer Construction Co.

He was a member of Izaak Walton League of America, Amateur Trapshooters’ Association. He shot trap for 32 years and was inducted into The Nebraska Trapshooters’ Hall of Fame in Nebraska in 1991.

He married Evelyn Gosker at Hooper February 15, 1939.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Sean Hansen Christ and brothers, Harold Christ, Roland Christ and Glen Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Janice (Mrs. George) Ogard, Jr. of El Cajon, California; a step-mother, Ella Christ of Hooper and sisters, Luella (Mrs. Robert) Larsen of Fremont and Dorothy (Mrs. Hein) Wilkening of Arlington.

Pallbearers were Terry Christ, Gary Schulz, Robert Schulz, Can Beckwith, Marlin Greunke and Robert Toebben.

Ruth Katz was organist. Lon Olson was soloist.
