SERVICES HELD FOR HATTIE CHRIST

Services were held Tuesday, January 31, at Piper Funeral Home in Lyons for Hattie E. Christ, 85, who died January 27, 1984, at the Oakland Hospital.

The Rev. Larry Woodcock officiated. Burial was in the Lyons Cemetery.

Hattie E. Christ was born June 12, 1898, in Modale, Iowa, to William and Fammie Wilder. She was raised in Blair area.

She married Otto L. Christ July 3, 1917, in Blair. They farmed in the Herman area before moving to Decatur in 1931. They moved to Rosalie in 1937; Walthill in 1942 and Lyons in 1955. She had lived in Logan Valley Manor at Lyons for the past three years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto, who died March 30, 1964. She is survived by eights sons, Arthur, Lyons; Henry and Clarence, Omaha; Emil, Norfolk; Albert, Rosalie; Ernest and Gerald “J.C.” of Fremont; and Gene of Blair; and three daughters, Mrs. Frank(Mildred) Biggio, Tampa, Florida; and Mrs. Jim (Ramona) Bales, West Point; and Mrs. Orville (Clara) Mankins, Homer. Thirty-two grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Clarence Wilder of California, also survive her.

Casketbearers were Ray Swanson, Roy Uehling, Dave Furgeson, Ronald Pond, Gerald Pond, Jr., and Andrew Larson.

Mary Bacon provided the music.

Piper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
