May V. Christ, 94, of Holdrege, formerly of Minden, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege.

She was born Feb. 3, 1912, in Fontanelle to Peter and Dorothea (Petersen) Wolff. She grew up in Washington County and attended country school in that area.

She married Harold Christ on Oct. 28, 1932, and they made their home in Fremont until moving to Minden in 1962. They owned and operated Coast to Coast Hardware in Minden until retiring in 1976. Her husband died in 1994. She moved to Holdrege in 2005 to be closer to her daughter.

She was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Minden. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She liked to fish, crochet, bake cookies for her family, read and play cards.

Survivors include; a daughter, Norma Sanders of Holdrege; a son Raymond Christ of Honolulu; four grandchildren, David Sanders (and wife, Susan) of Sidney, Daniel Sanders (and wife, Dawn) of Kearney, Linda Richter (and husband, Jack) of Holdrege and Laura Sanders of Holdrege; six great-grandchildren, Kevin, Robyn, Chris and Jeni Sanders and Adam and Ethan Richter; and two great-great-grandchildren, Terra Sanders and Taeylor Samuelson.

She also was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jack Sanders, two sisters and two brothers.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary United Methodist Church in Fremont with the Rev. Susan Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. Sunday at Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden with family present fro 3-4 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Monday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
