Esther S. Kucera, 97, of Sun City, Fla., formerly of Fremont, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013.

Esther was born to Robert and Anna Beckmeyer on June 9, 1916. Esther was a homemaker all her life while raising three boys. She then joined her husband Leonard in his career being a butcher. They owned Arlington Lockers of Arlington. They made their home in Fremont and were longtime members of First Lutheran Church, and Esther was a part of the Women’s Ministry group. Esther and Leonard were married April 11, 1939.

She is survived by her three sons, Dean (Claudette) of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Vern (Liz) of Fremont; and Bob (Imo) of Fremont; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; nephews and nieces.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard, and her two sisters.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont with family present from 6 – 7 p.m. Burial will be in Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha.
