Phillip R. Tinsley, 60 of Arlington, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at his home.

He was born Sept. 20, 1952 to Phil Anson and Marleen (James) Meyers in Elkhart, Ind. He spent his childhood in Constantine, Mich. He lived in Des Moines, Iowa, until moving to Phoenix in 1979. He married Dawn Hoy on Sept. 21, 1974, in Ankeny, Iowa. In 1995, they moved to Arlington. He worked for Connectivity Solutions before retiring in 2011.

He was a member of the Arlington Community Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn of Arlington; father, Phil Anson of Phoenix; mother Marleen Meyers of Three Rivers, Mich.; brothers, Jim (and wife Deb) Tinsley of Constantine, Mich.; and Craig (and wife Julie) Tinsley of Peoria, Ariz; sisters, Melanie (and husband Dean) Owens of Constantine; Dottie Tinsley of Three Rivers, Mich.; and Kathy (and husband Tony) Tootle of Prescott Valley, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Wanda Tinsley.

The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Arlington Community Church with the Rev. John Hogue officiating. The family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be in Dexter, Iowa.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society for lung cancer.
