Karl Erik Grinbergs, 42, of Blair, died Saturday, March 29, 2014,at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3 at First Lutheran Church in Blair.

Karl Erik Grinbergs was born July 18, 1971, in Blair to Tim and Ann (Borges) Grinbergs.

He was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed helping with different projects at the church.

He graduated from Blair High School in 1989. He was very proud of being a member of the 1988 Class B State Championship Football Team.

After high school, he attended Chadron State College and later graduated from Metro Tech. He also joined the Army Reserve and served until his honorable discharge in 1997.

He loved sports. He played Little League baseball for many years, and was a very good bowler. His favorite teams were the Nebraska Huskers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was also very interested in current events and politics and loved to talk about the subject.

He is survived by his parents, Tim and Ann Grinbergs; brothers: Matt and wife April and Paul Grinbergs of Blair; grandmother Loretta Borges of Sidney; uncle Tim and wife Sheila Borges of Knoxville, Tenn; many other cousins and friends, especially, Sean Grover and Jason Wicham, his two best friends and their families.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mirdza Grinbergs; grandfather Harold Borges and uncle Tom Borges.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
