Mrs. McManigal was injured in a runaway accident last week when she suffered several broken ribs and a broken ankle. She failed to rally after the operation and continued to grow worse until Monday evening when she passed away.

Mrs. McManigal was a daughter of Mrs. J. P. Stricklett of this city and was born July 17, 1861. She was married to Al McManigal in July, 1882, and to this union thirteen children were born, ten of whom with a husband survive her.

The condition of Mrs. A. B. McManigal, who suffered a broken leg in a run-away accident near Walthill a week ago, last Saturday, grew worse later Saturday. It was found necessary to amputate her right leg just above her knee; blood poison had set in, however death resulted at 9:30 Monday evening at the hospital in Walthill. The funeral service was held at the Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member, at 10 o'clock today and the body was to be brought here on the 5:30 train. Another service will be at the Christian Church in this city at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, with Rev. G. W. Sansbury officiating.

Mrs. Celestene Stricklett was born in this city July 17, 1861, and married A. B. McManigal in July 1882. They lived here until 1906 when they moved onto the farm a mile and a half from Walthill. Beside the husband, she leaves ten children, four of whom are married and live in or near Walthill and five at home. They are Arthur, Stanley, Randall, Mrs. Lou Watson, Fern, Vernon, Byron, Margerie, Ruth and Fannie. Also her mother, Mrs. J. P. Stricklett, of the city and sister, Miss Cora and three brothers, Turner, Edwin, and Louis.

It seems too bad that she should be called upon to give up her life for such a slight thing as stepping out on a buggy shaft to hook up a tug but fate seem to decree itself. So, her many friends in Blair and in Walthill sympathize deeply with the bereaved family.
