Gordon McManigal Drowns

Gordon McManigal, age twelve years, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe McManigal of Hamill, South Dakota, was drowned last Thursday while wading in a creek near his South Dakota home.

Gordon has made his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dulaney here in Blair for some time and has attended the Blair schools. After the school closed here, he was sent to the home of his parents and the news reached Blair last Thursday of his death.

Mr. John Dulaney immediately took the train for South Dakota, but as Hamill is thirty miles from Winner, the nearest railroad, and this with an undue amount of rainfall, has made it impossible to get news.

Gordon was a bright, likable child and a general favorite among his friends and acquaintances and the shock to his grandparents has been very great. He was buried in the Hamill, South Dakota cemetery.

Note: Since the actual death date was not given, the news article date was used.
