Lucile Compton, 83, Blair, died at Crowell Home Nov. 17, 1988.

Mrs. Compton was born March 5, 1905, at Garfield, Kentucky. She was raised in Blair, and graduated from Blair High School. She lived in Blair until 1959, then moved to Boise, Idaho and married Gilford Compton, Dec. 12, 1959.

She worked at St. Lukes Hospital as a seamstress until retirement in 1970. She moved back to Blair after her husband’s death in 1974.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, and one son-in-law.

FindaGrave # 113253585 Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Helen and Norman Schneekloth of Seymour, Wisconsin, Maxine Therkelsen, and sister-in-law, Betty Sieckmeyer of Blair. Also six grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted mother, loved life and helping people and also enjoyed her grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. The Father Tim Anderson officiated. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Organist was Claire Cowing and soloist was Tim Fischer. Pallbearers were LeRoy Sieckmeyer, Joe Edwards, Jack Champman, Ron and Rodney (Skeeter) Therkelsen.
