Former Blair Woman Dies In South

Funeral services for Mrs. E.M. Fletcher of Kirksville, Mo., were held at the Baptist church in this city, on Tuesday afternoon, April 7, at 3:15 p.m.

The deceased was Mima Beard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beard who live seven miles north of Blair. She was born July 17, 1872 on the Beard homestead and grew to womanhood in that neighborhood. On July 17, 1889 she was married to E.M. Fletcher of this city who survives her. On account of ill health she has lived in Missouri for the past seven years where her death occurred Saturday, April 4.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her parents, one sister, Mrs. Fred Payne of Merriman, Neb., three brothers, Harry of Red Cloud, Neb., Ed and Byron of this city and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Fred Smith of Chateau, Montana.

She was a member of the Baptist church at Herman, Neb., and interment was made in the Herman cemetery.

The remains of Mrs. E.M. Fletcher were brought to Blair Tuesday afternoon and funeral services were held at the Baptist church in charge of Rev. Thomas Reese of Herman who was assisted by Rev. A.D. Smalley. Interment was made in the cemetery near Herman. Mrs. Fletcher was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Beard and had died at Kirksville, Mo., following an attack of influenza. She was a sister of Byron and W.E. Beard and Mrs. Ida Payne, all of this city.
