CHAS. HOVENDICK BURIED IN HERMAN

Funeral services for Charles Hovendick, who died September 2, were held in the Baptist Church of Herman, Nebraska, Monday, September 4 at 2:30. Rev. Percy J. Bruns of the Mead and Wahoo, Nebraska churches officiating and burial was in the Herman Cemetery.

The pallbearers, grandsons of Mr. Hovendick, were Donald Hovendick of Omaha; Charles (Bud) Hovendick of Longmont, Colorado; Richard Hovendick of Beatrice; John and Jack Hovendick, Herman; Dwain Jordan, Herman; and James Wood of Fontanelle, Iowa.

Charles Hovendick, aged 87, was born near Kennard, Nebraska, February 18, 1880 and died in Blair at the Good Shepherd Home.

He was united in marriage May 25, 1902 to Elorah Fletcher. To this union five children were born, four of who now survive. They are, Lester of Craig and Chester, Vernon and Howard of Herman. A daughter, Vera died in infancy. His wife died in 1961.

Mr. Hovendick and family lived in Washington County for a number of years, moving to their farm home in Burt County in 1912. Here he remained until failing health compelled him to leave the farm. He entered the Good Shepherd Home July 13, 1964.

He leaves to mourn his departure besides his four children, nine grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. His only remaining sister, Mrs. Minnie Schiller, lives in Omaha
