Ardith M. Rasmussen, 87

Ardith M. Rasmussen, age 87, of Blair, passed away June 7, 2017, at Crowell Home in Blair.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home.

Ardith M. Rasmussen, 87

Ardith M. Rasmussen, age 87, of Blair, passed away June 7 at Crowell Home in Blair. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum with luncheon to follow. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at the Blair Cemetery.

Ardith Mae Rasmussen was born December 29, 1929, in Herman, the daughter of Arthur and Mae Evelyn (Petersen) Andersen. She attended New England Country School and then graduated from Herman High School in 1947. She attended Midland College and attained her teaching certificate then began teaching at the Orum School.

On January 8, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald L. Rasmussen at the Methodist Church in Blair. After the couple wed they made their home on a farm in rural Kennard. In 1955, the family moved to the family farm west of Blair. After raising her family and helping on the family farm, she started working at Klopps Jewelry and Gifts, managing the store for 25 years. After Donald's retirement, the couple made their home in Blair.

Ardith and Donald enjoyed their winters in Texas, where she enjoyed singing in church and being part of the church programs.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Donnelle (Jon) Lippincott of Des Moines, Iowa; son, Randall (Connie) Rasmussen of Bennington; son, Kent Rasmussen of Blair; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (David) Kuhr and their children and grandchildren of Blair; sisters-in-law, Opal (Jack) Jensen of Arlington, Helen Mallette of Blair; brother-in-law, Bill Rasmussen of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Rasmussen, and her parents.

Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum.
