Former Herman Man Died From Car Accident

Memorial services were held Wednesday, January 18, 1978, at 1:30 p.m. for Harold Lee Hovendick, 27, at the St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Scotland, South Dakota.

He was born on March 8, 1951, in Blair, Nebraska, and died January 15, 1978 in Yankton, South Dakota, as the result of an automobile accident. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church at Alder Grove Methodist Church of rural Craig, Nebraska. Harold was a 1968 graduate of Herman High School, Herman, Nebraska, and attended Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska. He served two years in the Army. He was assistant manager at Bomgaars Supply in Yankton, South Dakota the past two years. He and his family made their home in Scotland, South Dakota.

Harold and his wife, formerly Linda Rounds, were married on October 5, 1973.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, and their two children, son, Sean and daughter Michelle; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Hovendick of Herman, Nebraska; two brothers, Wayne of Herman and Terry of Tekamah; one sister Kathleen of Blair; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hovendick of Herman and Mrs. Nels Pedersen of Herman.
