Terry Hovendick, 56, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at his home in Herman.

Services were Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Herman Legion Hall. Military graveside services were held in the Herman Cemetery.

Terry “Hoot” Hovendick was born April 8, 1953, in Blair to Roland and Ruby (Pedersen) Hovendick. He graduated from Herman High School in 1972.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

On Dec. 1994, he married Tammi Moen at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Together, they raised the love of their life, daughter, Morgan.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His passion was hunting, he took several hunting trips out west with his hunting buddies.

He is survived by wife, Tammi; daughter, Morgan; and mother, Ruby, of Blair; a sister, Kathleeyn of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Patty Hovendick of Oakland; mother and father-in-law, Dick and Myrna Vercruysse of Blair; brother and sister-in-laws, Tom and Beth Moen, Jr., Todd and Herta Bouvia and Ed and Tanya Becerra, all of Blair; Many nieces and nephews.

Hoot was preceded in death by his father, Roland, and his brother, Harold.

Memorials are suggested to the Herman Legion Hall and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
