Esther Flynn, 84

Services for Esther Flynn, 84, of Blair, who died July 16, 1994, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19 at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Esther Lucile Flynn was born October 12, 1909, at Blair to William and Rosella Bottorff Hughes. She moved with her parents to Menlo, Iowa, in 1915 and to Fremont in 1925.

She attended Fremont High School and graduated in 1927. She attended Midland College and the University of Nebraska, receiving her teaching certificate from Midland College.

She taught at Sommers, Cuming City and DeSoto Schools, prior to moving to Norfolk in 1941 where she taught in Stanton County. After moving to Fremont she taught in Dodge County.

In 1960, she became a librarian assistant at Midland College, working in that capacity until 1970.

She married Richard Flynn March 18, 1933, at Blair.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Methodist Church.

They moved to Blair in 1985 where she resided at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Loyd and Hillard Hughes and two sisters, Elsie Charles and Flonnie Siedelman.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; two daughters and sons-in-law, Katharine and Edmond Yee of El Cerrito, California, and Janet and James Zabel of Chicago, Illinois; five grandsons, Pete Yee, Timothy Yee, Thomas Zabel, John Zabel and Michael Zabel and two great-grandsons, Andrew Yee and James Yee.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
