Gladys Fitch Dies, Age 42

Blair Resident Many Years Dies At Kearney; Funeral Sunday

Mrs. Gladys Fitch, 42, long a Blair resident, died Friday morning at a Kearney hospital following a lingering illness.

Surviving her are her husband, Wallace (Squire) Fitch; two sons, Roger and Bernard; and two daughters, Cathryn and Joyce; also a granddaughter, Jacqueline.

There are three sisters, Mrs. S. I. Moore (Maudie); Mrs. Sam A. Moore (Bid) and Mrs. Dorthy Menking, all of Blair, and one brother, Louis Gilliam of Blair.

With the Campbell Mortuary in charge of arrangements, funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Christian Church. The Rev. Ralph Kersey officiated and his son Robert sang. Pallbearers were Ole Olson, Ben Moore, Dan Moore, William Welter, Damon Nielsen and Renard Ladd. Interment was in Blair Cemetery.

Gladys Viola Gilliam, daughter of Charles and Katie Gilliam, now deceased was born at Tekamah June 16, 1912. She was long a member of the Christian Church. She and Mr. Fitch were married June 14, 1930.
